Food waste is a major problem from both environmental and cost perspectives.
In particular, prepared foods and lunch boxes with short shelf lives are often discarded by being unsold and expired, and this is a quite big burden for the operation of supermarkets and delicatessens.
Our product FR-SA can extend the shelf lives of various foods without losing their original taste and flavor.
Mechanism
FR-SA is a preparation of organic acids.
It inhibits the growth of microorganisms through the action of organic acids.
Effect of FR-SA added to cooked rice
According to our experiment, the growth of bacteria was inhibited even after 72 hours by adding 0.5% of FR-SA per rice.
On the other hand, in rice without FR-SA, the growth of bacteria started immediately after cooking, and its Total Place Count exceeded 1,000,000 cfu/g after 48 hours.
